Food Land

Towards more Foodland! This audio guide takes you along seven special places in the Vogelenzang creek valley, on the border between Brussels and Flanders.

In the Brussels periphery, the tension between the city and the countryside is palpable. Vogelenzang valley, in the south-west of Brussels, is one of the last remaining agricultural areas in the Brussels-Capital Region. The challenges are piling up. Its proximity to the city makes the area attractive for new residential developments. Open space is at risk of disappearing - and with it, the opportunity to produce healthy food in close proximity to the city.
The walk will take you to particular places where new alliances are emerging to ensure healthy, profitable and affordable food production in a climate-resilient landscape.
